Our Letter to the CM of Odisha

As a group of passionate young individuals dedicated to improving society, we have formed the Sri Jagannatha Service Foundation under the aegis of the Smt. Jasthi Sitamahalakshmi Trust was founded by our grandfather, Justice J. Eswara Prasad, in memory of his mother—a well-known philanthropist, leading advocate, and two-term independent MLC.

Our Planned Initiatives in Odisha:

  1. Promoting Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Cardiac Health Awareness We are committed to promoting CPR training and cardiac health awareness across Odisha. CPR is a cost-effective and life-saving technique, especially during the initial stages of a heart attack. Over the next three years, we aim to train thousands in CPR and conduct cardiac health camps in various parts of the state. We are honoured to collaborate with Dr Vemuri Murthy, a global CPR expert from Chicago, in association with the American Heart Association, to implement this initiative. We will also organize general medical camps to provide healthcare support to underserved communities.
  2. Assisting in the Construction of Shelters for the Homeless Recognizing the plight of thousands of homeless individuals living on streets and footpaths, we aim to assist in the construction of day/night shelters for these vulnerable populations, particularly women and children who are often exploited by anti-social elements. While the Government of Odisha has been working tirelessly to provide homeless shelters, the issue’s scale requires increased efforts.
  3. We propose that the government allocate urban and rural land for shelter construction. The Sri Jagannatha Service Foundation will help raise funds for these shelters through crowdfunding and by approaching NRIs, corporations, and philanthropists. Donors will be encouraged to donate directly to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Odisha, or a fund designated by the state government, ensuring complete transparency. The funds raised will support the construction of multiple shelters, which can be operated by the government or entrusted to reputable NGOs for management and maintenance.

As a gesture of our commitment, we donate INR 1 Lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Odisha, sourced entirely from our savings. This contribution is a token of our sincere intent to actively engage in community service and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
