CPR programme at Bhubaneswar

On August 1, 2023, His Excellency Professor Ganeshi Lal, Governor of Odisha, inaugurated the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training program at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar. This initiative aims to equip nearly 100,000 students, faculty, and staff from both institutions with life-saving CPR skills over approximately 70 weeks, with each training session accommodating around 1,500 participants at a time.

The program, organised by the Sri Jagannatha Service Foundation and the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Odisha, is a significant step toward enhancing emergency preparedness and saving lives. The widespread training effort is anticipated to have a lasting impact on the community by creating many individuals capable of responding effectively during cardiac emergencies.

The initiative is being coordinated by Mr. Abhinav Krishna Jasthi, President of the Sri Jagannatha Service Foundation, whose leadership has driven the program forward. Governor Ganeshi Lal and Sri Achyuta Samanta, Member of Parliament, philanthropist, and founder of KIIT and KISS, expressed their appreciation for Mr. Jasthi’s dedication to the cause.

Notably, the CPR training program forms part of a larger goal to train 200,000 people in CPR across Odisha by 2025. This ambitious effort is expected to create a significant ripple effect, empowering many people with the knowledge and skills to save lives in critical situations.

This life-saving initiative underscores the commitment of the Sri Jagannatha Service Foundation and the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations to promote health, safety, and community welfare in Odisha.
